Very great and serious application. I use it everyday. Very helpful.

Best theory app ive come across so far

Really nice and thorough. Recommended if you wt to get serious about music theory.

Great app

The quality and quantity of content is amazing for the low price of this app. The exercises are well though of and really help absorbing the information of the courses. I just wish they would expand the scope of the app or release a new one going even further on music theory.

good!

finally a good music theory app ... but developer should definitely check key signatures. the app e.g. asks me for Bmaj scale which is B C# D# E F# G# A# B ... but no matter what symbols I press it tells me I am wrong?!

Nice

Great. I like the step by step structure. Keep on developing! There is so much more to cover in music theory. However I dont like the keyboard design on iPad. It should be optical true to scale and should have 2 octaves. This would improve learning through visualisation.. Thank you

Excellent!

An excellent update! I love it more and more!

Middle C

The application is a good educational software and the new features are very helpful. Everything is fine, excepted the middle C on the keyboard who should be the C4 instead of C3 as on a standard 88 keys piano.

Best Music Theory App Ever

Even before the latest update, Musicopoulos was a pretty good app. Now, its just unbelievably good - amazing amounts of content, and useful practice sections for everything. I particularly like the sight reading excercises using the guitar fretboard interface!

Useful App for advanced musicians

Excellent app for advanced musicians who want to consolidate their theoretical knowledge.

Great App for all interested in music theory

I tried many apps for learning music theory. But this is by far the best! Works flawlessly, explains theory in an understandable way, is comprehensive and has great practice tools. I rarely do reviews but this app deserves only the best! Thanks for making it

I like it

The app is good, just need the minor scales theory, please add, the natural minor, harmonic and melody, or at least the natural minor, and the app will rock

Great!

This is an excellent app! I agree with the previous reviewer. The language needs a small bit of editing and the UI needs to be a little snappier. Nothing that takes away from 5 stars though. Well done!

Epic

This a really neat tool for studying, I wish there was a correction tool in during the key signature practice so u dont get the anwer wring if your hand slips. EPIC OVERALL THOUGH

Key Signature Practice Not Working

Every time I correctly answer a key signature it says you are wrong. For example there is one sharp in the key of G major which is F # but if you put F# in the key signature it says you are wrong. Very frustrating! I would like my money back.

Disappointing

I think this app is a failure, speaking as a musician and a parent looking for a tutorial for my child. It makes music theory seem much more complicated than it is. The keyboard should be used to demonstrate theory, not just words. Also, rhythmic notation is completely absent which is an unforgivable oversight. Save your money for a real music theory tutorial. Thumbs down!

A fun way to learn music theory.

In my youth, I played various musical instruments – the recorder, the guitar and even the clarinet. There are times today that I miss not being able to play an instrument. I almost wish I could play the piano but we don’t have one. Part of me would like to grab my clarinet but some of the cork is not glued anymore and I don’t have the money to check to see if it is worth it to get it repaired… Mind you my husband saw one on Costco.ca for 140$ which isn’t expensive considering I paid mine a bit more when I was in high school. I used to be part of the orchestra. You can see me in the picture below (I’m the fourth one from the left side or the right side… *grin*). Ah the memories it brings back to me… But when I learned music, I was in Quebec and learning it in the French language (do, ré, mi, fa, sol, la, si, do) and not with the letters like in English. So wanting to learn the English version of reading music, I discovered Musicopoulos. This app is not only one that can teach me - or should I say help me revise after so many years – the music theory through a series of lessons that is guiding me through the principles of music theory. Each lesson also has some exercises that will help you (or your child) to reinforce the principles learned. And the best part of it is that each lesson builds on the previous one you have done so that your knowledge builds up as you go. In the music theory section, you will learn about notes and intervals, get introduce to scales, understand the relationship between the scales, learn more about key signatures, major cords, diatonic chords and intervals , chromatic intervals, as well as the different minor scales (relative, harmonic and melodic). In the sight reading section, you will learn to read clef notes, sharps & flats, key signatures and more. So far what I have seen from the app is impressive. It explains in detailed terms that are easy to understand the music theory. Having a background in French, I am delighted to finally have a tool to learn more about music in English. I am seriously thinking of introducing my oldest son to this app to see if he would have an affinity with music.

no

Nice exercises... but NO rhythmic notations and NO audio demonstrations in the theory stuff...

Okay..

This app would be worth the money if there were any updates.
